May 2011: Rita is shy at first, but she has a beautiful smile and after she gets to know you, her personality comes through. She is 9 years old and lives with her mother , father, younger brother (Kapata Yesse), sister (Rose mary Kirabo, called "Gift" (meaning of Kirabo), age 3), and newborn baby sister (Judith). There is another child, a 5 year old boy, who lives with his grandmother in the village. Her father, Daniel, works at the stone quarry, and her mother, Sabena, doesn't work. Their house is small, with two rooms, and is made of mud with a dirt floor. Rita loves to play with dolls. This month, both Rita and her brother Kapata were given medication for de-worming, and were able to take part in the field trip to Wonder World, a fun amusement park! Rita attends the CUS church with her family on Sundays, and she is so cute hopping up and down to the music! Rita wants to be a doctor when she grows up, and tells us she wants to buy a vehicle! Her mother told us that us visitng and Rita being sponsored is a miracle that she never expected.
